Sunday 27th January - 1st mix completed from the bands home-grown recording sessions. Finally, there is an end product to weeks and months of recording, pottering, erasing good files etc, a track has triumphantly emerged. The project has been discussed for quite a while although Recording only began Oct 07. The tracks are basically "live" recorded in a   rehearsal atmosphere not only was the project engineered by the band but has been mixed and mastered by the guys using new acquired software A problem in itself as none of them had a clue how to use it! A spokesman for the group said "its not production on the scale of George Martin, but we think its pretty good for our 1st effort. Once we get to grips with the software and a new singer, we're confident we can produce better material".   It is noted the present singer was unavailable for comment although his agent hinted ," tights might get laddered at the next rehearsal"

Tuesday 22 January - Rayne started work on video segments for their up and coming  promotional DVD.  Judging by the stills, the band might want to consider entering the horror movie business!  Some of the footage would scare the hell out of FREDDIE/CHUCKIE and the rest of the horror heroes put together. There have been 4 tracks recorded for the DVD and is expected to be available from mid to late February

14 JANUARY- the band have been invited to an open air gig at STANLY PARK BANDSTAND-BLACKPOOL SUNDAY 27TH JULY.

Sat 8th Dec-

Another cut down version of the band tonight. Family commitments denied the audience
Of Ricky's "subtle, gentle and harmonious" guitar playing. However the band was joined by a surprise guest vocalist in Trish for a couple of numbers.

KB Blues also did a short support slot for the band and get better each time they play.
Listening to them would make you think they'd been playing together for years rather than a couple of months. A great act- thanks guys (look out for their own slot on Acoustic Friday 14th- the Vic 9pm)

A big thanks to the Caledonian Cruiser club who decided to have their annual Christmas bash at the Vic and who certainly swelled the crowd. And judging by the positive and complimentary from audience and staff alike, All in all a very good and successful night

6th October 2007

After a good wee while - the site is being updated again with help from our old chum Hodge.

Rayne returned to the Victoria Inn for the 1st time since T7 in the car park In June. The Vic has been altered to include a new stage area- a great plus from a bands point of view, and is gearing itself up to be the foremost live music venue in the area. Due to holiday commitments Rayne line up was slightly altered with Gary Oliver doing a fine job Deputizing for Ian hunter who was off sunning himself in the med.

There were  two guest acts performing-

Lucy's room - a three piece acoustic act from Dalkeith who performed very well.
And a newcomer to the scene Kenny Blaikie with KB Blues.

Kenny's easy going singing and manner is a joy to watch and listen to.
Young local legend "Frag" displayed his excellent guitar skills as usual backing Kenny.
Lets hope we see a lot more from this two.

We hope to update the site with new photos and info in the very near future.
Please keep an eye on it.

FORMER DRUMMER EXPOSED……………  an anonymous source contacted the website to advise  that he spotted a former stalwart of the band - he believed to be  Tam Dalgleish - at a shooglie-Jiggily concert in Glasgow.  The renowned heavy rocker tam was seen tapping his Zimmer frame  To classical teuchter toons and apparently enjoying himself immensely.
Tam issued a stern NO COMMENT TO THE WEBSITE However a spokesman from his management team issued a statement saying "tam strongly denies attending any such concert and maintains Any such rumours to be of malicious content"

THE END OF AN ERA!!!!!!!!!!!

WE ARE SAD TO REPORT THAT YESTERDAY'S gig at the "Ross Band Stand" was Tam's last gig with Rayne. Tam (The Man) has been the bands longest serving drummer with over 4 years as the driving force behind Rayne. His endless supply of rock n' roll ditties, facts and trivia have kept everyone amazed, amused and confused over the years. Tam's renditions of his favourite songs will be hugely missed on the long trips home from gigs. It was fitting that Tam should finish his career with Rayne on a high at yesterdays event. We hope to have a brief statement from the man himself within the next few days.

ALL THE BEST "TAM (THE MAN)"

16th April 2006

The band made its 4th consecutive at the annual "Edinburgh International Easter Festival", held at the Ross Band Stand in Princess Street Gardens. For once the weather stayed bright for their performances, although heavy intermittent showers during the day curtailed the audience. The event was slightly down sized this year, although we are sure the organisers would be pleased with the turnout. The bands first set was marred by a technical fault with one of the guitars, however the guys continued throughout until the problem was rectified, not the best of starts. The second set, which closed the event, saw the band back to their best, a recording of the event is being evaluated at present.

10th April 2006

Previous rehearsal recordings were mixed with the possibility of 2 tracks being used as demos.

ITALIAN TOUR IN NOV 2006!!!!

For the past 3 months there have been discussions on a possible tour to Italy in 2006, arranging a suitable time has previously proved difficult. For the first time, an official handover of T5 proceeds to charity. The event handed over £1455 to Radio Forth's "Help a Child Appeal". This is the largest amount raised from all the "T in the Car Park" events and everyone involved, bands, stall workers, sponsors and staff of the "Victoria Inn" should feel very pleased with their contribution.

The presentation was appropriately, held in the Victoria Inn, who provided a buffet for all, very nice indeed, a big thanks to Linda. Lesley Fraser-Taylor was present to receive the cheque on behalf of Radio Forth, also present were bands and helpers from the event.

See T5 page for photo.

7th August 2005

"After11" from Italy rocked the Victoria Inn on Friday 5th, with Rayne supporting. Our continental visitors thrilled the crowd with a very tight, and expertly played hour of rock n roll. Their set-list covered the cream of pop rock from the 60's to 21st century, Pamela and the guys certainly entertained with a great deal of energy and flair. We look forward to seeing them again at the Vic on Friday 12th August. (See Photos).

6th August 2005

Viking Biking Tour- Kirkcaldy Rugby Club. Rayne were without services of "The Banging Man, Mr Dalgleish", however his apprentice understudy Marcus Anderson performed the gig on his behalf admirably. Speaking after the gig Marcus said " its impossible not to glean something from Mr Dalgleish- he's such a Rock-God". Its hard to believe he's still hard at it as he's had his bus pass for a number of years now- truly a remarkable achievement". Langtoun  Motor Cycle Club were playing hosts to a number of Danish Motor Cycle Clubs this week and Saturday was the Grand Finale. Rayne were extremely well received from both the local and Scandinavian Crowds, so much so that further gigs were offered in Denmark, Germany and Kirkcaldy!!!!
A big thanks to Helen and Perry who travelled from London just to see the band, very much appreciated folks.

Footnote:- The rugby club are holding a "beach party" in November which, they tell us, involves a number of tons of sand being poured into the club and all female guests wearing beachwear. The band have offered to do the gig for a minimal fee!!!!!

There was a full turn out of listed bands with McCarlies Jam starting the proceedings off with a duo of pipers, John and Chris. (Chris had made the trip up all the way from Annan.) Rayne then kicked off a PA sound check with a 20mins set. Followed by: - The Occasional Rascuedoes, Sunday Roast, Halfcut, Sugarhouse, Tapsalteerie, The Three Wheelers, Phantom Riffage and then finally Rayne. The weather was not to kind to “The Three Wheelers” in particular and at one point, there was concern the festival may have to end early. However there was a number of brave soles who "weathered the storm" and insisted in asking Rayne to play  2 encores!!!.

A big thank you and well done to all the bands, staff and helpers, Ronnie and Susan Taylor, Mandy and Ricky Samson, Daniel and Shirley McVie, Stuart, Sandra and Claire Stenhouse who manned stalls and ran the raffle, and last but not least MC Graeme Cassie who kept both kid and adults alike entertained all day.
